Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th 20th, 1980) is a famous American performer, singer, and dancer. Her career began with Broadway career in musicals including Wicked and Legally Blonde, and Hair. She received an award from the Tony Award for Best Featured actor in a Play for playing Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford Tony Award winner actor has worked with many acclaimed directors and actors in the stage and on television. The award-winning actress continues her career with her upcoming projects. Ashford is set to next be in the role of Kumail Nanjiani on the Hulu special program Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford currently is working on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust which stars Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. This film is undoubtedly a Hulu Original and will be streaming on Disney DTC. It will be released in 2023, March. Ashford returns to Broadway as a co-star with Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. This production will be conducted by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team that brought you Hamilton. Ashford was most recently seen as Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment that is based upon the national crisis that swept into Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters for the first impeachment trial in more than 100 years. She was part of the cast for two seasons of the popular CBS comedy B Positive. Also, she was a part of the hit series created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, with famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. No stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her performance as Essie. Additional Broadway performances for Ashford includes Sunday in the Park, as George Wicked legally Blonde, as well as the role of Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this role, she earned a Tony Award nomination. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and currently splits her life between Los Angeles, and New York.
