Awkwafina She is an American actor and musician who started her career by performing clever hip-hop raps that addressed racial and sexuality with an edgy and humorous perspective. She then expanded to Hollywood. She was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants from Forest Hills Queens her first encounter with the world of music was in the form of the trumpet. Classical, jazz and hip-hop education began when she was in her teens. In college, she studied writing and women's studies. Then, she even had a short time studying Mandarin in Beijing. She didn't start focusing on music until after she graduated. Her track My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity via the Internet during 2012. It would later be included on her first album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. It also contained songs that were viral such as body positive Queef or winking hometown tour NYC Bitche$. The latter was associated with Awkwafina's NYC and 2015 travel guide. With musician and author on her resume she determined to pursue the role of a third-party actor. Alongside early series such as Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films such as Neighbors and Storks. Her breakthrough came in the year 2018 when she appeared in a number of prominent films, like Dude Ocean's Eight and Crazy Rich Asians. Her debut EP,"At Fina We Trust in June of the same year.
